Bristol break

Hello all! Hope you had a great Christmas. I spent Christmas with my family and ate way way waaaaay too much… worth it! Before Christmas though my boyfriend and I decided to have a night away in Bristol as a Christmas present to each other. We did this last year and went to the Winchester Christmas market so I think we are making it a bit of a tradition. I really recommend giving a present in the form of a memory as I will always look back on these nights away with fondness.   First of all we had a look around the Bristol museum and art gallery. The building was beautiful and was lovely to have a quick look around. I particularly enjoyed the natural history and art section. I think a visit to an art gallery is in order soon! We then met up with my friend who lives in Bristol and he showed us around the harbour front and back to the Christmas market and shopping area. We then had a look around the shops and it was lovely to be in a city at Christmas time with the hustle a...

Christmas Cards

Happy Monday everyone! Only 2 weeks until Christmas! How crazy is that. Finished uni this week and just yeeeeeeesssssssss! As promised here are my homemade Christmas cards that I made my family and boyfriend this year! I have always really enjoyed crafting but have never really got into painting. My paintings have always previously looked like a 5 year old had done it but none the less I thought that I would give it a try as a nice thoughtful thing to do for my family over just buying cards. I found most of these inspirations online and therefore cannot claim credit for creativity as I mostly just copied their designs but I am quite pleased with how they turned out! I used water colour paints and art paper that I taped to a board to try and lesson the warping due to the water. I found that starting off with a very light sketch helped me to keep the colours where I wanted them! Also building the painting up by letting it dry between layers helped me to build them up into what ...

'Christmas Tree, oh Christmas Tree'

Hello DECEMBER, Had such the chrismassy week this week! Think I have all my presents ready to go and wrapped up all pretty. I put up the tree at the weekend and took some pics to share with you guys because it’s just so pretty. My mum has been collecting decorations for years and I love the snowy icy theme. Also I love putting up the tree with my mum and we had a moment when we thought about how this probably will be my last Christmas living at home. Both exciting and a little sad. Think ill have to pop back next year and still set up the tree with her though. The boys in my house are no longer interested but I love getting it all just right… bit of a neat freak I knooooow. Loved listening to Christmas songs and singing along while we decorated. Really makes me start to feel Christmassy with the lights all warm in the evening. Started the chocolate calendar this week too!.. and went to maccas and tried their cookie latte! All the yummy things!      ...

The daily life of a student commuter

Hello everyone, Welcome back to my blog. Today’s going to be a collection of the most annoying and strange things that have happened with my travelling life as a commuter student. Most of it is me having a rant..what changes. But before that let’s recap the week. Had an okay week this week. Mostly was just finishing off a project and trying to stay motivated with my studies but also got to see the beautiful Christmas lights out and about :) . Also went to visit my boyfriend this weekend and it was so so lovely to have a weekend off and to catch up with him. Spent the weekend shopping for Christmas presents and just enjoying each others company. Also went to a pub for a couple of drinks Saturday afternoon as a nice little date. Picked up a new pair of glasses today and it feels like the last few month of eye sight have been a lie… THIS IS WHAT THE WORLD LOOKS LIKE. Just wrapped all my Christmas presents to the smooth voice of Michael Buble…sigh.. And here we are at Monday ...

Study tips and tricks

Another week gone, where are you going November?!?!? How have your weeks been? Mine was a rollercoaster of a week. It started with a sickie bug that made me feel quite poorly and I watched The nightmare before Christmas which was very very strange. I don’t know what I thought of it to be honest…. The rest of the week I was a bit of a stress head with 3 projects to hand in. But im happy to report that I managed to get them all in… PHEW. At the weekend I went to get my eyes tested and guess what… another few notches blinder than I was before so yay for me and my useless eyeballs. But I did go out for a chai latte and cake with my parents which was really lovely. And here we be back at Monday again. Todays been a long day of study and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share with you my study day/ tips. 1)       Start the day off right! I went for a walk this morning and found that moving my body and getting some fresh air put me...

Music and Meandering

Happy Monday peeps! After about 40 minutes talking to Clyde from Spotify… shout out to Clyde… I bring you my Spotify playlist although my account seems to hate logging in….yaaaaay. After a dropped connection, Clyde and I’s conversation was cut short so goodbye Clyde. Bet I made his evening…. Heres a link to my favourite songs of all time. I’d love to hear what songs you are loving right now. Hope you enjoy! My music picks   This week was pretty good as I had an excursion with uni which was pretty fun. Just walked around a massive estate and learnt about how they manage the land in an eco friendly way. The weekend was really relaxing. Went to Millets farm which is basically like a garden centre and farm combined…heaven ik. Had lovely soup which was great as the weather was pretty chilly! Was really nice to have a look at all of the Christmas decorations and start to feel excited for December to come. Looked through the food section and wanted to buy everythi...
